September 29, 1911 – November 5, 2010
On Friday, November 5, Mom passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 99.
She was predeceased by her husband Ben.
Mom will be sadly missed by her children: son Ken (Gladys) Micklash, daughter Delores (Dick) Fortune, son Keith (Lorraine) Micklash; grandchildren Kim (Randy) Hawkins, Manny (Leona) Micklash, Marty and Katie Micklash; great grandchildren Ty and Tory Micklash and sister Phillys.
Mom worked at Eaton’s Mail Order from 1946 until the store closed. She loved her job and made many friendships that lasted a lifetime. After her retirement, she worked at Superior Printing.
Her last years were spent at home where she lovingly made perogies and cabbage rolls for her family. Each day she looked forward to people stopping by for a visit. She also took great pleasure in the company her dogs provided.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, November 9, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, R3T 0R3.
