I'm sure that I can't add anything different to the words of condolence that have already been submitted about Jocelyn Levesque in saying how respectful and courteous this man was, how positive and live-loving his attitude, how disappointing that his life has ended too soon.

I worked in the Surface Branch of Transport Canada for a short time a number of years ago and got to know the type of man that Jocelyn was. I will remember him as a colleague and friend that would greet me on the stairway in the MacDonald Building, in Portage Place or elsewhere when we would cross paths, invariably always with enthusiasm and interest, always having the time to talk and ask me how things were going. It was very transparent that he had respect, concern and time for other people. He was also very conscientious about his work and some time ago had told me that he loved to train people and share his knowledge and expertise. I remember an assignment in this regard in Ottawa. He mentioned more recently that he intended to go to university after retirement and attain some higher qualifications so that he could continue to work in this capacity. It seems he wanted to continue to contribute. He was very respected and admired for such fine qualities. Those of us from Transport Canada and all his clients across Prairie and Northern Region have lost a great colleague and friend. We will miss him enormously.

I want to express my deepest condolence to Phil, who like Jocelyn was, is also a member of our Transport Canada community, Jocelyn's wife and any other family and friends.

Jennifer, I was sadened to hear about the passing of your father.  My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.
 
At the beginning of December, I started a six-month assignment at Transport Canada and this week I heard the news that Jocelyn Levesque had passed away. It was not until I saw the obituary that I realized he was your father. Staff at Transport Canada speak very fondly of Jocelyn. I regret that I was not able to meet him.

While I didn't know Jocelyn well, I know Phil and convey my deepest condolences.  I haven't been with TC very long, but can tell you it was very evident how proud Jocelyn was of Phil.  I remember his smiling face and infectious laughter in the Communications area as he came by, nearly everyday to check on Phil and say hello.  The bond was clear and one to be cherished.  I will miss his positive outlook and "joie de vivre."  Phil, I wish you and your family strength and courage during this difficult time.

It is with great regret that I heard of the death of a good friend and former colleague.  
In addition to delivering training to provincial inspectors, Jocelyn was also involved in the development and delivery of a course for inspecting tank trucks transporting dangerous goods for Canadian and Mexican dangerous goods inspectors. Jocelyn contributed in a significant manner to the training of transport dangerous goods inspectors.

I will always have fond memories of Jocelyn.  He was the first person I met when I first started working with Transport Canada (over 23 years ago) and Joce always made me feel like part of the TDG team.  We often talked about family and discovered that we were close in age, had married around the same time, and both had two children that were close in age.  He loved you all very much.  Although we hadn't worked together for a number of years, we often bumped into each other in the building or going to and from work and would end up talking at length trying to catch up with each other's lives.   We always ended our conversation with "we'll have to get together for a coffee".  He was a wonderful person and I will truly miss him.

It was hard to express my feelings to you the day of the memorial service.  I am so deeply sorry for your loss of your husband & father.  
Growing up with you Jenny, I saw how much you loved your dad and he loved you.  Like everyone keeps saying, he was always so happy. It was always fun to be @ your house as your dad was always cracking some joke. Jenny, I know you have endured so much already with the loss of Ryan.  My heart aches for you. It was a sad day in the Yukon when we heard about Jocelyn's passing.  I really enjoyed working and learning with him.
We will sure miss him.
One memory will always stick with me about Jocelyn.  He was up here in June doing inspections and I had rode the Artic Cat Prowler, a UTV side by side, to the Weight Scales that day. I was also doing  CVSA inspections. Jocelyn was checking the prowler out that morning and so I told him I would give him a ride before he leaves on the plane.  He kept on checking to see when I could give him a ride.  Finally it worked out that I was free to give him a little ride.  Well all buckled in and down the ditch and along the trees we went, only about 1/2 mile or so.  He was having a blast.  I took him back through the ditch and on the highway and just cruised back to the scales.  When we got back he was laughing he had the biggest smile and kept on saying, he wanted one of these.  Then he got a serious look on his face and said to me, You messed up my hair!.  Well that is the memory I will  keep of him.  A Great Man, Funny, Jocelyn, you will be missed!

Jocelyn and got to know one another over the last 4 years, bumping into each other while travelling around Prairie and Northern Region for work. He's one of those people one is happy to know, always putting a smile on his face even when things were tough. Judging from the way he talked about his family, he obviously loved you all very much and worried about you. We recently shared our individual plans for retirement. I'm saddened his plans were cut short. The world was a better place because of Jocelyn and I will miss him.

I am filled with great sadness at hearing of the passing of Jocelyn.  I work at the Government of Yukon weigh scale and have known Jocelyn for the many years that he has been coming to the Yukon for his work.  I can honestly say that I have never met a nicer, kinder, funnier gentleman.  And he was a gentleman.  I always looked forward to his visits here and travelling with him to various businesses.  There can be no one who can replace him.  I will remember him always.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Jocelyn.  Without question, Jocelyn had his 'ducks in a row' in that his family was placed above all else in priority and importance.  Jocelyn always spoke with much enthusiasm about his family and his love for you was very evident.  For this, I thank Jocelyn for helping me to understand what is truly important in life.
 
In addition, Jocelyn was a highly respected inspector who touched many people in the dangerous goods world.  His enthusiasm for teaching was infectious and he was able to share this enthusiasm with hundreds of provincial and federal inspectors across Canada.  Jocelyn taught me much over the years and I continue to use these tools daily.  For this, I thank Jocelyn.

Hello.  I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jocelyne's sudden passing.  I knew him through work, in both my previous job and my current one, for the better part of 20 years, as he mentored and advised me in all things Dangerous Goods.  He was always good natured, always had a joke and a smile, and always had patience and answers for my many questions.  He was an excellent teacher and a true gentleman.  I liked, admired and respected him very much.  I will miss him.  
 
I can only imagine how devastated you must be, having him taken so suddenly and at such a young age.  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

Jocelyn, Phillip, and Jennifer:

I wish to express my sorrow and sympathy for your loss of a loving Husband and Father.

When I first started at Transport Canada in November 1990, Jocelyn and I quickly became more than co-workers, we became friends. He was a great mentor and teacher those early years and anytime I needed assistance, Jocelyn was the first person I turned to and he always found time to help me.

We often talked about our families and he was so proud of his Jenny and Phil and all they accomplished while growing into the adults they are now. We talked about many subjects going on in our lives over the past 20 years and Jocelyn had such a passion and love of life that I will really miss. He was always ready to listen and provide me with advice and guidance, which I appreciated very much. 

Jocelyn was a well respected Inspector and Instructor at Transport Canada, and I know that Instructing was one of his favorite duties and he was very good at it. Jocelyn had the personality required to teach, and the knowledge and experience that he passed on at each and every class he taught.

I will forever be grateful that I had the opportunity to have known the man from Levis, Quebec, whom I am proud to have called my friend.
