Len was born July 29, 1949 in Atikokan, Ontario. He was an avid volunteer in the community of Ignace where he lived and worked for 40 years. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour and his gift for telling jokes.
Len is survived by his daughter Shannon (Robert) Schmidt; grandchildren Ayden, Ashton and Bailey; brothers Don (Darlene), Robbie (Leoma); sisters Cindy (Ron), and Gina (Lorne); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Len was predeceased by his wife Sandra Ibey; parents George and Mae Ibey; an infant sister Gloria; and his father-in-law William Futz.
Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Len’s wishes, a private family service will be held at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, in Winnipeg on August 8, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary Berglund Community Health Centre in Ignace, Ontario.
