Judy was born in Winnipeg on December 8, 1960, the youngest child of Paul and Violet Wiegner (nee Langner). Judy is survived by her two brothers, Paul (Susan) and Allan (Elaine; her nieces and nephews Andrea (Derek), Graham (Dana), Jonathan (Karen), Crystal, Shawn (Mimi) and Karley (Jamie); her cousin Cyndy (Ron) as well as her great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Judy grew up in St Vital attending Minnetonka School and Dakota Collegiate. From high school she was anxious to enter the workforce, so she enrolled in the secretarial course at Robinson Career College. After the two-year course, she went to work for CP Rail and held various positions until her retirement in January 2018.
One of Judy’s lifelong loves was gardening. She loved to plant her beautiful flower gardens and putter in them over the summer months. She also planted a large vegetable garden and enjoy the produce that resulted. Her other great love was her cats over the years, Cougar, Cuddles, and Tiger.
Family was incredibly important to Judy. She was always in attendance at our family dinners and events and was an integral part of our lives. She so enjoyed being with all the kids and hearing about all of their activities.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. Also a special thank you to her friend Marne for all her care and support as Judy dealt with her health challenges.
Funeral service will be held at Thomson in the Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd on Thursday April 10 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Judy may be made to Cancercare Manitoba, the Winnipeg Humane society or the charity of your choice.
