He is survived by his wife Geraldine “Gerry” of 65 years; his son Chris; daughter Lorina (Gerry); grandchildren Christopher (Miriam), Ryan, and Brittney (David); great-grandchildren Silas, Nathan, and Connor; brothers Cecil “Midge” (Helen), and Cliff (Phyllis); sister-in-law Eff (Jack) Mason, and nieces and nephews.
Ken’s career was in the automotive industry starting at Carter Motors in 1950 and ending as an estimating supervisor in 1989 at MPI, when he retired.
His interests included working with cars, the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, building a cottage, model airplanes, which led him to obtain his private pilot’s license and owning a plane. After being unable to continue flying, he graciously donated his plane to the Recreational Aircraft Association (RAA) at Springfield Flying Club in 2014.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, with luncheon to follow in the reception room.
