She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Robert (Bob) Blanco, daughter Margaret E. (Betty) Jones, Son-in-law Allan, granddaughter Alanna (Chris), grandson Brad (Kris) and seven precious great grandchildren. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Jim Blanco, mother Beatrice Laewetz, step father Henry Laewetz, father Hughy Millar, brother Harry Laewetz and sister Jean Ching.
Peggy was born in Dover, England and moved to Canada with her mother and sister when she was three years of age. She grew up in Winnipeg, and worked at Eaton’s Mail Order until she married in 1946. She then became a house wife and stayed at home to raise her children. Mom loved to bowl and bowled for years at the Fort Garry Bowling Alley on a mixed league and then later on a women’s league. She also loved to play bingo at the Fort Garry Legion which she was a member of for many years with our father Jim. Mom also had been a member of the Eagles Club in St. Norbert for many years. She loved to bake and the neighborhood kids would come by on the weekends to sample all of her goodies and especially when she made her homemade fries.
Mom was at Misericordia Interim, sixth floor, from November, 2014 to April 28, 2015, when she moved to Golden Links.
We would like to thank the staff (6th Floor) at the Misericordia for the wonderful care she received during her stay there and also to the wonderful staff at Golden Links for all of their great care, support and loving kindness.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Eagles Club, 3459 Pembina Highway, St. Norbert.
Mom, you will always be missed and lovingly remembered by your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Love you!!
