It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maria Paz (Pacing) Saria at Grace Hospital on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her four children, Francisco Jr. (Mercy), Efren (Solly), Olivia (Jun), and Marissa (Ramil); daughter in-law, Connie; 15 grandchildren, Heather, Heidi (Chen), Jessa, Kerstine (Michael), Francis (Anne), Jan, Marvin (May), Maricar (Dunhill), Marco, Carlo, Kayla, A-Jay, Camille, Mae, and Allison; and 4 great grandchildren, Frederick, Arthur, Christopher, and Tiffany Gail.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Francisco Sr; son, Milo, great grandson, Franz; parents and four siblings.
Maria Paz was born in Imus, Cavite, Philippines as the fourth of five children to parents, Martin and Marta, on May 17, 1929. It was in Imus that she met and married her loving and devoted husband, Kiko. As her husband tended to the farmlands in the Philippines, Maria devoted her life to their five children whom she cared for and proudly raised. In 1986, Maria along with her husband and daughter Marissa immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, joining eldest son Francisco Jr. and his family.
When her husband finally retired at the age of 73, the couple split their time between Canada and the Philippines. Maria’s focus shifted from raising her children to raising and guiding all of her 15 grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing for her family, gardening with her husband, spending time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved watching major league baseball. Maria was a doting wife, mother and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family and we are all blessed to have her as a major part of our lives and upbringing.
Nanay, thank you for everything that you have done for us and all your sacrifices. We will forever carry on your memory and pass on the love that you have taught and shared with us. We miss you so much and know that you are at peace with Tatay.
Nanay joyfully made a personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Lamay will be on the evening of Saturday, September 11 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard with Pastor Lorenz Sallong II officiating.
