Marina grew up in St. Norbert, Winnipeg, MB and lived her whole life in the Winnipeg area.
Marina is survived by her immediate family, her Grandpa George, extended family Lindsay and Laurie (Keith and Brooke and family, Mark and Lonetta and family), Elaine & Larry (Darcy and Tara and family, Jill and Rob and family), Joy and Dennis, Jay, Craig and Judy (Jena and Evan, Sam and Adam), Boyd and Diana (Madison, Hailey), and close friends who meant the world to her. She is preceded by her Grandpa Jack, Grandma Pat, Grandma Olive, Uncle Ron and her cousin Cole.
Her love of sport developed at a young age, where she made friendships that would last a lifetime. Her larger than life personality endeared her to all those around her from teammates, to school mates and colleagues. Her selflessness and her ability to put others first showed up in her work, and translated into her personal life.
Marina had many hobbies and interests including playing ringette, golf and slo pitch; remaining involved in the Winnipeg Ringette League; and spending time with the children of her closest friends.
She was taken too sudden and too soon. She will always be remembered by all the lives she touched, her raucous laugh and her infectious personality.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marina’s honor to The Cole Hamblin Memorial Fund, 1350 One Lombard Place Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 0X3 or ALS of Manitoba 2A – 1717 Dublin Avenue Winnipeg, Manitoba R3H 0H2.
From the bottom of our hearts, Marina you will be missed.
