It is with sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of Marjorie (Joan) Smith on January 7th at the age of 94.
Mum was predeceased by her husband Walter, daughter Nancy, Son in law Ernie, Daughter in law Liz, Sisters Joyce, Fran and brother Roy. She leaves behind her sons Lloyd (Beverlee), Brian (Sandy), David, Doug (Margaret) as well as 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mum will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family and friends. Mum lived a life devoted to her family, her career in education and her church community.
We would like to give special thanks to the staff at Middlechurch for all their care and compassion given to Mum and to her minister Karen Toole for providing comfort to Mum and our family during her final hours.
In accordance with Mum’s wishes, a remembrance of her life will be held Klassen Funeral Home, on Thursday January 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. It will also be livestreamed, and a link will be provided on her obituary at www.klassenfuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bird’s Hill United Church and or The Winnipeg Humane Society.
