September 25, 1939 - November 1, 2012
Peacefully, with his family by his side, Dad went to join his best buddy Meril just in time for the annual lunch.
Dad will be sadly missed by his wife Gay, daughters Kelly (Wally), Cindy and son, Dean (Amanda), grandchildren Nick, Andrew, Josh, Tyler and Katie. Also left to remember Dad are his brothers Barry (Myrella), Briane (Jeanette) and Stu (Joyce), sisters-in-law Ursula and Vivianne (Bob) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, including the St. Norbert gang.
Born in Sudbury, On and raised in Copper Cliff, Dad met the love of his life and they married 50 years ago Nov 24. Together, they moved to Toronto, Calgary and finally settled in Winnipeg to raise their family. He is predeceased by his parents, Jean and Aubrey. Dad started his career with Manulife in 1960 and retired from Sears after 25 years. Dad was a good hockey player back in the day but switched to golf after a few too many old timer games. He took up curling and bowling but not fishing. Dad's friends called him Charlie Brown and he was also known as Wizard. Keep your stick on the ice Dad, we'll miss you.
A come and go memorial reception will be held on Saturday, Nov 10 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Blvd. 6pm - 8pm, with a tribute at 7pm.
Honorary pallbearers: Nick Turski, Andrew Turski, Guy Chretien, Michael Chretien, Alain Landry and Wally Buikema.
