Patricia Karen Moon

Mom was born and raised in Portage la Prairie. Being the only daughter with three brothers, she learned fast to stand up for herself with a feisty fearless and an outgoing attitude. She was far from shy and always smiling. She had the confidence of someone who could do anything she decided she wanted to do.

Mom met and married Keith Moon and together they had three children, raising them in Winnipeg.

Mom always had a sparkle in her eye and fun in her heart. She had the ability to strike up a conversation with a total stranger, chatting as if they were old friends.

Family and friends meant the world to Mom. She was always fiercely protective of those she loved.

Mom was kind and gentle and had a wonderful way of making you feel seen and heard, She was known as “Mama Moon” by those she worked with, because she had that natural maternal instinct, mixed with a healthy dose of humour. The kind of person you could confide in and turn to when you needed a shoulder.

Mom was always up for fun, and loved to make people laugh. She could put people at ease just by being herself.

She loved get togethers with family and friends and when she walked through the door, you knew the fun had arrived. She enjoyed cooking family meals and having a house full of people.

Mom was thoughtful and generous and would go out of her way to see that you had what you wanted or needed. Even if it was just a hug.

She was a natural mother who was no nonsense and straight forward, and so very loving.

When her grandchildren came along, she was a little less ‘no nonsense”… those little ones brought out a different softer side of Mom. One of endless patience and fun. Together they loved to spend time doing all the things that kids love to do.

Mom was a kind thoughtful, gentle woman, with a heart of gold. She was also feisty, loud, fearless and funny. It was the perfect combination, to create a truly magnificent woman who was a gift to all that knew and loved her.

A small family gathering will be planned in the future to celebrate the life of our mom.
