Robert Swiderek

In honour of Robert Swiderek, beloved by family and friends, a quiet and gentle soul will be missed by many hearts.

A musician, a champion for all living creatures, those hurt and neglected, Robert’s voice still vibrates within us. In film, onstage, and online he worked to right wrongs by rescuing and protecting those that could be saved. He loved all animals, especially cats and most recently Koa, who still waits for him to come home.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Swiderek on September 7th, 2024. Quietly carrying the burden of cancer for many years, he was 58 years old when he passed. Rob leaves behind, yet still lives in the memories of his partner of over 20 years, Stacy; daughter Rylee; sisters Yvonne and Monica; nephews Devon and Adrian and friends.

Rob was born in 1966 in Winnipeg, five years after his parents Caroline and Roman Swiderek, and his siblings Yvonne and Monica emigrated from Lodz, Poland to Canada. Both Caroline and Roman have passed. Our thanks to Riverview Health Centre for their exceptional care and compassion during the last few days of Rob’s passing.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
