With great sadness, the family announces that Ron Kowal passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Riverview Health Centre, aged 66, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer.
A proud Manitoban born in Fort Churchill, Ron was well-known for his work at the family motel and his love for aviation. He was a natural storyteller and cook who cherished making others laugh. Ron is survived by his partner Lela Ramnauth, daughter Cassie (Steven), mother Lillian, and sister Lyn (Trent), along with many nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his brother, Doug Kowal, and father, Joseph Kowal. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Marlie Du Plessis, Seasons Medical staff, and River View Health Centre staff for their care and compassion.
Service to be held Thursday, April 2, at 10:00 am at Thompson "In the Park" Funeral Home.
