

Rosalina Tugade, born on March 13, 1937 in Dulacac, Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, departed this life peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016 surrounded by her family, at Victoria General Hospital.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Rosie Mukai and son-in-law Craig Mukai with whom she resided; son Wilsie and daughter-in-law Lorna; and daughter Jerilyn and son-in-law Kevin. Her memory will live on within her grandchildren; Richard (Guada), Richelle (Jim), Roxanne (Brian), Cathy, Michael (Jessica), Sherry (Dexter), Jeremy, Carl Matthew, Taya, and Kiyra; and great-grandchildren Breanna, Brynnen, Xierra, Tamia, Charlie, Rhianna, Tyler, Xander, Zoe, Malik, Richard Jr. and Knox.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Redipto Tugade, daughter Terlie Cuevas and daughter-in-law Gemma Tugade.
Rosalina was born to Bernardino and Maria Abarra, was the only daughter and youngest child of 9 siblings. After meeting her husband Redipto, she spent her early years tending to the farm and caring for their children. Redipto and Rosalina, with Wilsie, moved to Canada to join Terlie and Rosie and their families and shortly thereafter welcomed the final addition to their family, Jerilyn. Rosalina had an abundant love of traveling, visiting such places as Calgary, Banff, Vancouver, Toronto, Niagara Falls and the Philippines. But above all, Las Vegas was her favourite destination, where she took in the shows, enjoyed the food and loved staying and playing in the various hotels. She spent her final years gardening and enjoying the smiles and laughter of her grandchildren and great grand-children, and will be fondly remembered for her love of family.
Lamay will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 between 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street, with burial at Brookside Cemetery to follow.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff in the ER and the 4th floor at Victoria General Hospital for caring for her in her final weeks, as well as the staff in the ICU who tended to her in her final hours.
