She married Lee Crowell in 1940 and was a longtime resident of Fort Rouge.
She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Ruth; husband Lee in 1983; and her four brothers and four sisters.
Ruth is survived and much loved by her son Ron (Joanne); daughter Maureen (Alan Grant); grandchildren Robyn Overwater and Gavin Crowell; great-grandchildren Travis, Kennedy and Austin Overwater and Hayley and Logan Crowell; sister-in-law Dorothy Familton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was a homemaker but also worked various jobs, mostly in the catering field. Mom had numerous dogs in her lifetime and loved taking them on their daily walks. She enjoyed knitting, reading, her exercise classes, as well as looking after her plants and feeding the birds.
Many thanks to the staff at the Poseidon Care Centre (3 East) for their care and compassion.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral services.
