Sally moved to Winnipeg from Reinfeld, around the age of 22. She started off working at Clifford's clothing store, a job she really enjoyed, until the store closed
permanently. Not too long after, she started at Gunn's Bakery. She spent 20+ years there and was very happy there. She made many friends there, co-workers and
customers. They were like family to her.
She loved spending time with family and adored her nieces and nephews. She never forgot anyone's birthday and made a point of calling everyone to wish them a Happy
Birthday. She loved shopping trips and used to enjoy spending time at the racetrack in Gimli.
She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2005, she had surgery and went through 1/2 year of radiation and 2 1/2 years of chemotherapy. She bravely fought her way
through it and beat it. Life changed drastically for her after that. She was no longer able to work or do many of the things she once enjoyed.but carried on and
made the best of it. Then this year, she she was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer, which she ultimately lost her battle too.
The family wished to thank the staff at CancerCare, the staff on GH3 at HSC and to the dedicated and caring staff on the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health
Center.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service. Interment will be at a later date, all will be welcome.
