It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Fraser Schillinger on October 10, 2025, at the age of 55. Scott passed peacefully with his loving parents, Janis (Kirkland) and John, by his side.
Scott is also survived by his Auntie Barbara Kirkland, and his devoted siblings: Pamela Lowry (Glen); Nancy Carpenter; Mark Schillinger (Brandy) and Heather Schillinger. He is also survived by his nephews Brenden, Duncan, Devin and Derek and his nieces Jenna, Avery, Marley and great niece Kendall. As well as his extended family from the Netherlands.
Scott will be remembered for his kind spirit, his quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family. His passion was tending to his several flower gardens, at the place he loved the most, the family cottage at Brereton Lake.
Scott graduated from River East Collegiate in 1988 and completed his BA diploma from Red River College. He made strong contributions in the family business. Scott had a very rewarding career with the Bank of Montreal, working various positions, advancing him to the private banking sector. He was very well liked among his colleges and would often bring his homemade baking in for celebrating special occasions for his co-workers.
Not only was Scott’s family important to him his lifelong friends also held a special place in his life. The friendships go back as early as elementary school, continuing until his passing. Our heartfelt thank you go out to Leslie and Tammy for the support and love they showed Scott.
A memorial service to honour Scott’s life will be held on October 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Klassen Funeral Home on Henderson Hwy.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Scott’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of your choice.
We would also like to send a thank you to the all the Doctors and Nurses at CancerCare Manitoba, HSC and St. Boniface Hospitals.
