With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sheila Margaret Robertson Jennings on January 4, 2025 at the age of 69. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David Jennings, daughter Julie D’Avignon (Michael Bessette), brother Ian Robertson (Donna Collins), and her beloved granddaughters Reagan and Harper, as well as her many nieces, nephew, and extended family.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Sheila spent many of her school years in Pinawa, Manitoba. Sheila had worked at the Winnipeg Tribune and was active with several organizations over the years. She devoted many hours to writing poetry and short stories that were deeply reflective of her life.
Despite all of her health and other challenges in life, Sheila always had a positive attitude and exhibited boundless empathy for others. She recognized and appreciated the best in those around her and inspired all she knew to do the same.
Sheila was predeceased by her beloved parents, John (Jock) and Janet (Jenny) Robertson, her sister Marion Dearlove, and her brother-in-law David Dearlove. She found comfort in the thought of rejoining them in her next chapter.
Thank you to all those at Sterling House who befriended Sheila over the years and all those who cared for her.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheila’s memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (Manitoba). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
