With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Stella Williams, age 94 years, at Concordia Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband John Russell in 2008. She is survived by daughters Lynne (Eugene) and Susan (Kane) and sons David (Mona) and Michael (Debbie), 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Stella was born on January 10, 1928 in Port Arthur, Ontario (now Thunder Bay) and grew up in Kenora, Ontario. Stella worked at the paper mill in Kenora and married John in 1951. They moved to Winnipeg in 1961. Stella worked for many years as a secretary at Robertson Elementary School in Winnipeg. In retirement, Stella and John enjoyed spending their afternoons at McPhillips Street Station.
The family greatly appreciates the care and kindness Stella received at River Ridge II Retirement Residence and at Concordia Hospital.
