Early on, he was that guy standing outside your house in the dead of winter, pumping the oil that kept the heat on inside. He sold real estate, he and his brother Jerry ran their own service station but it was all those years at Birchwood Motors making sure that the new cars that came in were road safe and perfect before they went out that he was most proud of.
In retirement he and his wife, Marnie, (who preceded him in passing in June of 2003) owned and operated a summer resort on the Bay of Quinte for a number of seasons before “officially” retiring to become Arizona snowbirds for many years.
His life and memory will be honored by his four children, Patricia (Emil), Lynda (Gilles), Roberta (David) and William; grandchildren Jeffrey, Justin, Jodean and Conrad; Steven, Michael and Robert; Todd and Tara; Jennifer and Michelle; great grandchildren Mackenzie, Madison, Jorja, Jack, Samantha, and Shawn; Tatiana, Noah and Hayden; Tyler and Katelyn; Ava.
To have known Toby, to have really known him, was to love him. Rest happy dad, we will miss you.
The family extends thanks and gratitude to the management and staff of the Middlechurch Personal Care Home for their gentle, loving care of our father.
He has been cremated and it was Toby’s wish that there not be a funeral service. You are invited to make a donation in Toby’s name to the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
