William James Wilbur Higham

October 14, 1929 – April 6, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our beloved, Wilbur James Higham (The Candy Man) on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at age of 87 years. Our beloved father leaves to mourn and to cherish his memories his lovely wife of 24 years Donna; sons Ken (Jennifer) and Ray (Darlene); daughter Gwen; grandchildren Nicole, Paul, Vanessa, Andrea (Mike), Stephanie, and Mark (Mara); great-grandchildren Danielle, Rhyan, Liam; great-great-granddaughter Jordyn; step-grandson Devin (Lee), step-granddaughter Chelcy (Shawn), and step-grandson Trevor James (Catlin); step-great-grandchildren Brooklyn and James; brother Ed, and sister Vera. Dad was predeceased by his wife Flora in 1980, sister June in 2006, his parents Mable in 1980 and Gus in 2007, and stepdaughter Kerry in 2015.

Dad was a long time member of the ACT/UCT for over 60 years and strong member of the Camper Group. He looked forward to summer travel for visits with family members and dear friends.

We also thank the efforts of the medical team of Floor 5 of Peter Lougheed Center, Calgary, Alberta for compassion care given to our father.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, if people so desired, a donation can be made in our father’s memory to a charity of your choice.
