After studying electrical engineering at NC State University and then working for Fairchild-Hiller, he opened his own electronics manufacturing and design business at age 25. He devoted 43 years to his business. He was a perfectionist, priding himself on his workmanship as well as his fairness in dealing with employees and customers.
A long-time member of Oak Summit UMC, Don faithfully served in numerous capacities - from various committees to teaching adult Sunday School to mowing the cemetery to repairing the furnace. Throughout life, Don was hardworking, strong, dependable, and kind. We could always count on him. He was well-respected and well-loved.
