Karen was born on October 17, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Alfred and Wilma Sprinkle. She attended North West High School. In 1962, Karen met Richard "Wayne" Shaw and the two married in 1964. She adored her family and spent her time caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In her spare time, Karen enjoyed hunting, cross-stitch work, and puzzles. She loved being outside, especially at the Sprinkle Blueberry Farm, her family farm.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Shaw; sons, Barry (Lynne) Shaw and Gary (Diana) Shaw; grandchildren, Cody (Alayna) Shaw, Austin Shaw, Tyler Shaw, Nichole Shaw, and Parker Shaw; great grandchildren Layla and Ivy; siblings, Lee Sprinkle and Linda (Robert) Forcum; many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at Robinhood Baptist Church on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 12 pm. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:30.
