

Marjorie Beth Boyd passed away on Friday April 3rd 2026 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born May 17th 1949 in Bluefield, WV to Don and Maxine Boyd. She was raised in Bristol, TN where she was active in her church playing the organ and she also worked as a life guard in the summer. After high school she enrolled at East Tennessee State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and was active in the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Her senior year she was runner up for the Miss Johnson City pageant. After college she completed her Masters Degree in Education at the University of Tennessee. Beth spent the majority of her professional career working in education. She taught in a number of schools across Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina before finishing her career in the collegiate setting. After retirement she once again returned to the class room working as a substitute teacher for a number of years. She will be remembered for her love of animals, particularly her cats and black lab Biscuit. Always a fan of Beach Music she loved to dance and spend time at the coast.
She is survived by her son Jason Campbell, wife Jessica and grandchildren James & Julia all of Winston-Salem. Also survived by her brother Steve and wife Lyn of Winston-Salem and brother Sam and wife Debbie of Hilton Head, SC.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and her former husband and close life long friend Dick Campbell.
The family would like to thank Trellis Hospice Care and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House for the wonderful care she received.
A private ceremony is planned for a later date.
