Stefanie was born on April 29th, 1961 in Dearborn, Michigan to Alice Gallins and the late Frank S Piedad Sr. She grew up on their family farm in Greentown, Ohio where she made many memories with her siblings, friends, and horses. Stefanie graduated from Hoover High School in 1979 and then attended beauty school at National Beauty College in Canton, OH, where she obtained her cosmetology license. She has been a cosmetologist for over 40 years, and has gone from owning her own salon, to working alongside many amazing stylists that she considered family to this day. She finally found her forever salon home working with her soul sister of many, many years and got to finish her last 6 months of her career there. Stefanie cherished each relationship she had with her clients, which many became close friends through the years. That was her passion, and she enjoyed every minute of it.
Stefanie loved to travel and visit new places. Many memorable trips she had were those taken with her parents, siblings, and husband Jeff. She has traveled to Venezuela, Carocus, Hawaii, rafted and hiked the Grand Canyon, and many local mountain and beach trips in between. But most of all, she made each trip special. Stefanie moved to North Carolina in 1981 following after her big brother and shortly after, met Jeff, her loving husband of 37 years. They got married on June 16th, 1984 and lived their life by each other's side. In April of 1997, Stefanie welcomed her prized possession, Madeline into this world. They had a bond like no other and shared many of the same passions and mannerisms up until her last day. She would walk to the ends of the earth for Jeff and Madeline, and would not think twice about it. Which they then finally got the honor to return the favor to her.
She was not only the best wife and mother, but the best sister, aunt, daughter, and friend to have in your corner. No matter the place or time, you could always count on her to be there for you or take care of you, it was in her heart and her blood. Many considered her like a second mother, or sister, and she sure would embrace that and not let you down. To know her was to love her.
You could always find Stefanie at the barn, her second home, loving and caring for her horses Annie and Jazz. They were her world and she was theirs. It was her happy place and safe haven there. She would spend hours amongst hours with them. She was an excellent horseman and accomplished equestrian rider.
In addition to her father, Stefanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley Mass and Frank S Piedad, brother, Frank S Piedad Jr., mother-in-law, Jean C Hartman, sister-in-law, Susan G Shaw, and niece, Hannah Hartman.
Stefanie is survived by her husband Jeff and daughter Madeline (Harrison), mother, Alice Piedad, brothers, Robert Piedad, and James (Laura) Piedad, sisters, Andrea (Robert) Engelmann, and Marguerite (John) Barnett, nieces, Abby (Robbie) Davis and Sophia Barnett, nephews, Griffiths Engelmann, and Frankie and Jimmy Piedad, great nephew, Cameron Davis, and future baby Davis.
