Ann W. Harrell

Ann W. Harrell, 98 of Valdosta, GA and formerly of Winter Garden, FL passed away on Oct. 10, 2012. She was born in Geneva County, AL on Dec. 12, 1913. Ann met and married John A. Harrell in Alabama. After she joined him in Winter Garden, they owned and operated a restaurant for many years. In 1945, they opened the Winter Garden Loan Company which they operated successfully for over 50 years. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John A. Harrell in 1996, her sister, Alice Blain, and her brothers Calvin Waters and Donald Waters. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Mayer, Lake Park, GA, her son John W. Harrell, Winter Garden; her grandchildren: Daryle (Jennifer), Shawn (Whitney), Tabitha Walden (Brandon); her great grandchildren: Logan , Maddie, Breanna. Johnathan, Emma Grace, Tori, Nicole and Adain

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden 125 N. Lakeview St, Winter Garden. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 – 11 AM with funeral service to follow at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 125 N. Lakeview St., Winter Garden or to the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home in Enterprise, FL in memory of Mrs. Harrell.
