Carl Edward Werner

Carl Edward Werner passed away at the age of 98 on August 20, 2022. Carl was born in Pen Argyl, PA, where he spent his childhood. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in Austria. He was married to Alice Adele Labarre, who preceded him in death in 2013. They lived in Washington, DC, where he worked for the U.S. Treasury Department from which he retired as the Director of Customs at Dulles Airport in 1979. He moved to Florida after his retirement. He is survived by seven children: Sandra Stratford (Barry), Catherine Homenda (Steve), Ann Evans, Carol Hoover (Skip), Carl Werner II, David Werner, and Karen Werner. His daughter Margaret Ericson (Nils) preceded him in death in 2021. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
