Carol Sue Hallabrin, aged 69, of Clermont, Florida passed away September 1, 2022, surrounded by loved ones after a three-year fight with cancer. Carol graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She went on to serve in the United States Army, stationed in the United States, as well as Germany, achieving the rank of sergeant before leaving the service and moving to Florida.
Carol was an entrepreneur at heart, owning a t-shirt company and a bookkeeping/accounting business. She was the Office Manager for HW Davis Construction in Orlando for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2018.
Carol was an avid bowler, loved playing baseball, coaching and playing softball, and supporting women’s sports (she was an annual ticket holder with the Orlando Miracle). She loved road trips, visiting friends and family, and eating Polish food (especially in Michigan). Her favorite vacation spot was Las Vegas where you could find her playing craps or eating hotdogs at a Detroit inspired restaurant. She built computers for friends and family, enjoyed competing against friends on Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch while chatting with them Zoom, and playing Tripoli for pennies. Carol was a walking GPS – she could tell you the best way to travel anywhere in Central Florida and up to Michigan. She kept up to date on weather wherever her loved ones were so she could let them know about any inclement weather heading their way.
Carol’s true passion was animals, particularly eagles and dogs. She was an avid supporter Best Friends Animal Society, South Lake Animal League, and the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey.
Carol is survived by her sister Gloria Flucks (Tennessee), brother Richard Hallabrin (California), sister Lynn (Tod) Lanham, Brian (Allie) Lanham and Tod (Kim) Lanham Jr.
(Michigan), her best friend Diane (Dolly) Fahr and family: Susan Baxter, Amanda (Keith) Bryan, Donovan Paiz, Gabriel Paiz, and Kaden Bryan, and Murphy Reinert (John Klapchuk).
