Dave and his family entered America from Ellis Island in 1929, changed their last name to Davis for easier pronunciation, and moved to Kearney, Nebraska.
After graduation from Kearney High School in 1947, he drove a Coca-Cola truck before proudly enlisting in the US Navy where he served for four years during the Korean War. Dave earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics from Old Dominion University and followed on with Martin Marietta in Orlando, FL. Dave later began his own business of party and entertainment rentals. Before his retirement in 2006 he worked as an Electrical Contractor in Orlando.
Dave is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Louise (Colyer) Davis of Clermont, as well as his daughters, Teresa Deiybes, Orlando, FL, Sharon Garren, Milton, FL, Diane (Michael) Greco, step-daughter Sharon Bronson, Orlando, FL, step-sons Rusty Bronson and Johnny Bronson of Orlando, FL, Douglas (Joann) Boone, Murfreesboro, TN, Wayne (Terri) Boone, Charlottesville, VA, Jamie (Vivian) Boone, Orlando, FL. Dave is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Dolores Davis, San Diego, CA and four nieces.
Dave enjoyed the slow-paced simple things in life. Watching westerns, football, and American Ninja Warrior, playing boards games, and cards. But what he loved the most was any excuse to celebrate special events with his family. Birthdays and holidays where he gathered with his daughters and his extended family was a highlight for Dave. In 1994 Dave joined West Orange Baptist Church, was baptized and became a devoted member. He will be remembered for his love of Jesus and his desire for others to share in his faith. Though he couldn’t carry a note, he thoroughly loved singing in the church choir. When not in church or working he was tinkering with his 1949 Hudson Commodore, his 1949 Hudson Convertible and his 1953 Hudson Hornet. His was delighted to recruit his wife, Mary Louise, in the restoration and rebuilding of his antique cars. Together they traveled and served with the Orange Blossom Hudson Club enjoying many events throughout Florida and as far away as Nebraska and Texas. Another great joy was decorating for and celebrating Christmas. Dave was most proud of the nearly life-size handmade Nativity scene that he and Mary Louise built and proudly displayed for many years.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513
