Jerrold "Jd" Schmidt

Jerrold “JD” Dale Schmidt, 60, of Orlando, Florida passed away suddenly on December 22, 2014. He was born to the late James Thomas and Jeanne Schmidt on January 24, 1954. JD graduated from Decantur Central High School and later technical school for computers. He worked as a Security Officer for multiple companies including Century, National Security Associates, Simmons Security, and AS Events. JD met his wife, Nora Moya, through work when they were both working at the airport. The two were married on June 15, 2012. JD was a hard worker who enjoyed what he did. He and Nora loved movies and would have a “date night” every Tuesday to catch the latest flick. JD will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in his passing by his parents. JD is survived by his wife, Nora; his son Steven Schmidt (Amy) of Madison, IN; his daughter Renee Schmidt of Columbus, IN; his sister Joyce Reynolds (Don) of Orlando, FL; his nieces Robin Williams and Angela Owens; his grandchildren Zachariah, Samantha, Valdimyr, and 4 step-grandchildren; his stepsons Nandito David, Rene Guerrero, and Sidney David; 3 great nieces and nephews; and a host of many other family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5pm-6pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. Service will follow visitation at 6pm.
