Maria Josefina Brenes

She was born on July 22, 1932 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

Her father’s name was José Juan Brenes predeceased, and her mother’s name was Cornelia Osorio Torres also predeceased.

She is survived by 2 of her children: Ruth González, Julio Gonzalez, and her daughter-in-law Carnetha González. Her oldest son, Angel Ojeda, preceded her on her death.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Wendy, Melissa, Julio, Ophelia, John Joseph, granddaughter-in-law Vanessa, Jan Michael, Shalonda, grandson-in-law Gary, Kia, Sandra and 18 great-grandchildren.

She’s also survived by sisters: Adelina Simmons, Dora H. Berríos-Sublett, Maria Del C. Berríos de Marsh, Luz S. Berríos de Pacheco, Carmen Bonilla and Norma I. Berríos (predeceased) and brothers: Felix Torres (predeceased), Luis Osorio (predeceased) and survived by Hector Berríos.

She leaves behind her dear friends, Rafael, Ana, María and Sergio, as well as a whole host of neighbors and friends.

Fina was energetic, strong and determined. She had a tremendous passion for life, loved laughter, dancing and crocheting. She was fiercely independent, with a very clear mind full of memories, but what best describes her is her amazingly generous heart. We will all miss her happy spirit.
