He was predeceased by his younger brother, Paul Wraith.
Born on May 9, 1930, in Southsea, England, to Charles and Anne Wraith, Peter grew up with a passion for learning and adventure. His father served in the Royal Navy, and his mother was a dedicated high school principal. He attended Eastbourne Grammar School in Sussex, England, until he was evacuated to a school in Wales during WWII. After completing his education. Peter pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering, earning a high Diploma from Loughborough University and a BSc. (Hons) from London University.
Peter proudly served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy from 1955 to 1957, where he was awarded the Suez Bar for his service during the 1956 Suez War. During this time, he married the love of his life, Pamela King, in London, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and shared adventures.
Following his naval service, Peter enjoyed a distinguished career as a Chartered Electrical Engineer in the aerospace industry, contributing to groundbreaking projects such as the Concorde. His career later transitioned into sales management, where he excelled as Group Sales Director for Harmer & Simmons Group, UK, until his retirement in 1995.
Peter was an active member of the Round Table, Probus, and a Master Freemason, where in 2000 he was presented with the “Freedom of the City of London”, embodying the values of service and community throughout his life.
In 2002 he and Pamela moved from the small village of Stock, Essex in the UK to San Diego, California, to be closer to their family, later relocating to Winter Garden, Florida, in 2014 to continue cherishing time with their loved ones.
A man of diverse interests, Peter was passionate about traveling, mending things, working on his cars, clay pigeon shooting, and lawn bowling. He found joy in the simple routines of life, especially his daily walks around the neighborhood with his “Grand-dogs” (sharing tea and biscuits with them), and a well-earned beer with his son-in-law Greg, at 5pm every day. His unwavering dedication to family, along with his wit and kindness, will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Cheers Peter, we love you!
