Betty was born on November 2, 1932. She graduated from Winter Haven High School with the Class of 1950. She went on to work for GTE, where she dedicated 37 years of service before retiring.
In her younger years, Betty enjoyed bowling and tumbling and was a member of the swim team. Known as something of a tomboy, she was also an active member of the Girls Athletic Association. Throughout her life, she found joy in reading, gardening, and especially spending time with her family.
Betty loved her family more than anything and spent the last 30 years of her life on the family farm, where she created many cherished memories with those she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Whitney; her son, Al Grant (Vince Krakau); her grandchildren, Tracy Whitney, Roxy Whitney, and Nathan Whitney; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Waters; her sister, June Carter; and her brother, Wayne Bilbrey.
Betty will be remembered for her love of family, her warm spirit, and the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.
A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Winter Haven on March 21st at 11:30 am. There will be an optional gathering at Grove Roots in Winter Haven following the service.
