Charlotte L. Ellis

Charlotte L. Ellis of Winter Haven passed away of respiratory failure on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 8:30 PM at Good Shepherd Hospice. She was born in Jamaica, New York on January 31, 1928 to the late Earl and Ethel McCurdy.

She was a native of Rockville Center, New York and moved to Florida from Honolulu, Hawaii. She was an elementary school teacher before becoming a wife, mother and home maker. She was an avid bowler and line dancing instructor.

She is survived by sons Lawrence J. Ellis of Mystic, CT and Bruce P. Ellis of Honolulu, Hawaii; brother Robert McCurdy of Moscow, Idaho, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Swiss Golf and Tennis, Winter Haven, FL on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to: Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
