James R. Nelson

James Robert Nelson, 76, of Lake Wales, FL passed away Jan. 7, 2012 of natural causes. Jim was born August 4, 1935 in Oxford, NJ. He was the son of the late James A. Nelson and Mary Louise Richards Nelson. Prior to moving to Lake Wales, Jim lived in Easton, PA, Washington, NJ and Hampton, NJ. He graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School, Annandale, NJ in 1953. Jim served in the US Navy from January 1954 to November 1957. He worked for Bell + Howell, Allentown, PA for 40 years, retiring in 1997 as a machine shop supervisor. Jim and his wife Marie were avid RVer's for over 40 years.

Jim was a member of Lester W. Pfeffer American Legion Post 611, Easton, PA, Imperial Polk Gun Club, Inc. Winter Haven, FL , Alturas-Lake Wales Shooting Assoc., Lake Ashton Veterans Assoc., and the Lake Ashton Shooters all in Lake Wales, FL.

Jim is survived by his loving family, his wife of 46 years Marie Bogusky Nelson, sister Nancy Nelson McGaharen (James) of Homosassa, FL, daughters Sherry Nelson of New Jersey, Cynthia Nelson Hann (Lewis) of Phillipsburg, NJ and Theresa Nelson Zajac (Marc) of Wilson Boro, PA and step sons Kevin Brady (Janette) of Allentown, PA and Charles Brady (Stephanie) of Midlothian, VA. Grandchildren Mary Louise Hann , Phillipsburg, NJ and Lewis Hann of Portsmouth, NH and step-grandchildren Nick and Chris Brady of PA and Cathleen Brady of Va.

Arrangements are being made by the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven, FL. Memorial services will be held March 2, 2012 at the Lake Ashton Veterans Memorial, Lake Wales, FL.
