Winter Haven - Joan P. Canouse, age 82, of Winter Haven, FL died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 due to cancer. She was born in Forty-Fort, PA on April 19, 1928. She was a graduate of both Allentown High School and the Allentown Business School. She worked for her family’s real estate company, Canouse and Son, as a personal shopper for Hess Department store and for Merchants Bank for 31 years. She loved to swim and walk and was quite athletic. Joan was an active member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Allentown. In 1994, she relocated here to Winter Haven to be closer to her sister. She was an active member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Joan is preceded in death by her sisters Elizabeth Canouse and Marie Canouse and her brother Jack Canouse. She is survived by her sister Nancy Langbein of Winter Haven, her brother Joseph Canouse of Atlanta, GA, eight nieces and nephews, and twenty-one great nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Winter Haven, FL at 10:00 am. on Saturday, March 19, 2011.
