Michael "Sean" Callahan passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2020 at 12:02 pm at the age of 48. Born in Atlanta, GA on October 16th, 1971, he resided in Winter Haven, FL since he was 5. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Richard Callahan. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Renee Callahan and mother, Faith Coss Callahan. He is also survived by his mother in law, Laurine Fletcher, sister in law Jamie Hiers, brother in law, Dana Hiers, nephew Ethan Hiers, and niece Megan Hiers.
Sean was a graduate of Winter Haven HIgh School Class of 1989, and he received his Bachelor's degree from Florida Southern College in 2009. Sean had a passion for working with special needs children and young adults with disabilities. He worked with the Polk County School Board as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional in ESE for many years. He was currently employed by DAB Support Services as a respite/personal care provider.
If you knew Sean you knew a person with a heart of gold. He was always positive, kind, funny, generous, and a most wonderful, loving husband. He enjoyed keeping up with the latest music, movies, especially Sci Fi, horror, comic, etc. He LOVED collecting comic/movie memorabilia. He enjoyed having a beer and hanging with friends who enjoyed the same (you know who you are, and there are many). He was a member of the original cast of fanboys from Downtown Comics.
Our hearts are broken into a million pieces knowing we will never see his wonderful smile or hear his sweet voice again. He was proud to be an Irish man and visiting IRELAND was on his to do list.
Grieve not, Nor speak of me with tears But laugh.
And talk of me. As if I were beside you.
I loved you so. 'twas heaven here with you
An Irish Blessing May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. And
until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Amen
