Pura Ramos Garcia

Mami, Pura Ramos García, fue la segunda hija de Gloria Garcia y Thomas Ramos. Su responsabilidad con sus otros cinco hermanos fue desafiante. A los 16 años viajo a Nueva York para trabajar y ayudar a su familia. Durante ese tiempo conoció a mi papá y se casó. Tuvo dos hijos, Madeline y Peter, y crío a Jackie. Luego tuvo el privilegio de conocer al Señor. Mami amaba al Señor con todo su corazón, no dejaba pasar a una person por su lado sin hablarle del amor de Dios. Mami fue una mujer fuerte, bella, inteligente y carismática. Ella comenzó una iglesia en Morovis y en medio de tribulaciones y pruebas pudo construir la iglesia, que ahora cuenta con más de 150 miembros. Fue una excelente pastora aunque muchos decían que no podía ser pastor por ser mujer. Mami fue una madre y abuela incondicional. Fue una sierva genuina del Señor, muchos no lo entienden, pero lo podía ver claramente. Una persona que verdaderamente sabía quien era Dios y lo que El podía hacer y nunca tuvo temor de hacer y decir lo que Dios le indigaba. Hay tantas personas que fueron bendecidas por esto.

Nosotros sus hijos, nietos y biznientos la echaremos de menos, pero su presencia permanecerá en nuestros corazones para siempre.

Pura fue precedido por sus esposo Benicio Negron y hijo Peter Pereira. Le sobreviven sus hijas, Madeline Pereira y Jaqueline Ruz, y su nietos PJ Pereira, Anthony Pereira, Rebecca Pichardo, y Tania Arciniega, y bisnietos Jacob Pereira, Samuel Pereira, Frances Pereira, y Zion Pichardo.

Pura Ramos Garcia was born on December 8, 1934, in Rico, and was a resident of Lake Wales, Florida. She passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 90 in Davenport, Florida.

Mom, Pura Ramos García, was the second daughter of Gloria Garcia and Thomas Ramos. Her responsibility with her five other siblings was challenging. At the age of 16, she traveled to New York to work and help support her family. During that time, she met my dad and got married. She had two children, Madeline and Peter, and raised Jackie. Later, she had the privilege of meeting the Lord. Mom loved the Lord with all her heart, and she never let anyone pass by without sharing God’s love with them. Mom was a strong, beautiful, intelligent, and charismatic woman. She started a church in Morovis, and in the midst of tribulations and trials, she was able to build the church, which now has over 150 members. She was an excellent pastor, even though many said she couldn’t be a pastor because she was a woman. Mom was an unconditional mother and grandmother. She was a genuine servant of the Lord, something many didn’t understand, but I could see it clearly. She was someone who truly knew who God was and what He could do, and she was never afraid to do or say what God led her to. So many people were blessed by this.

We, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, will miss her, but her presence will remain in our hearts forever.

Pura was preceded in death by her husband, Benicio Negron, and her son, Peter Pereira. She is survived by her daughters, Madeline Pereira and Jaqueline Ruz, and her grandchildren PJ Pereira, Anthony Pereira, Rebecca Pichardo, and Tania Arciniega, as well as her great-grandchildren Jacob Pereira, Samuel Pereira, Frances Pereira, and Zion Pichardo.

Flowers are not required; any donations can be made to the family.

The family invites those who wish to join them during this difficult time to the funeral service, which will be held on February 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven.
