Sara Lisbeth Hollingsworth Robertson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, entered into rest at the age of 91 on April 15, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia, and was a graduate of Plant High School in Tampa, Florida, Class of 1951.
She married Dickson W. Robertson on January 14, 1953, and together they raised their family and shared many cherished memories. A dedicated homemaker and a committed professional, she also worked for the Internal Revenue Service.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Statesville, North Carolina, and later attended Heartland Church in Winter Haven, Florida.
Sara found joy in life’s simple pleasures—crocheting, needlepoint, and playing bridge with friends. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She gave back to her community as a volunteer at Iredell Memorial Hospital as one of the "Pink Ladies" and also served as an Election Day volunteer, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Sara is survived by her sons, Kenneth Alan Robertson (Sheila) and Samuel James Robertson (Michelle); one brother, Byron F. Hollingsworth; and her grandchildren, Adam Robertson (Carrie), Matthew Robertson (Mary Rose), Rachel Garasha (Jed), Samuel Robertson, Kiley Robertson, and Marissa Robertson. She is also survived by her nephews, Craig Conwell, Jeff Conwell (Deborah), David Hollingsworth (Tina), Jim Hollingsworth (Emily), Lee Hollingsworth (Stacie), and Howard (Buddy) Bryan; nieces; Betsy Cubas (Juan), Becky Embro (Joey), Amy Hollingsworth Hayter; cousins, Debbie Martin (Larry), Patty Morris, and Elaine Montague, former sister-in-law, Norma Blancato Hollingsworth Mortensen, and longtime friend, Alice Harrold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dickson W. Robertson, Jr., parents, Opal Johnson Hollingsworth and Byron F. Hollingsworth Sr.; one son, Jeffrey Peyton Robertson; and one nephew, Douglas S. Conwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Heartland Church, 300 3rd Street NW, Winter Haven, Florida. The service will be live streamed at https://heartchurch.live
