

Ursula Agnes Lewis, born in Berlin, Germany, March 18, 1938, and died November 12, 2010. She was educated in Berlin and Paris becoming a linguist in seven languages. While working for Pan American as a stewardess, she married Talbot Lewis, a Virginian with a plantation in the West Indies where they resided. They have one son, Michael Lewis a former media investment banker and motion picture producer who is currently chairman, CEO and co-founder of 3D technology company RealD, a New York Stock Exchange listed company.
After moving to Florida, Ursula provided book translations for Harper and Roe publishers, international lawyers and motion pictures. She was also a professor at Florida Southern College.
The Lewis’s were the founders of Orchid Springs, Polk County’s first planned unit development, one mile from Cypress Gardens, where they have resided. The Lewis family recently engaged with Green Horizon Land trust to gift the Lewis Botanical Gardens for posterity. Ursula’s mother, Gertrud Otto, Controller of IBM in Berlin, and her brother, Michael Otto, preceded her in death.
