Alice W. Costello, 55, was called to heaven on September 16, 2011 after a courageous 23 year battle with the most progressive form of MS. She is survived by her husband, John W. Costello, her sisters Diane Ward Standish, Mary Beth Campbell, and Caribee Ward, and her precious life-long friend, Sharon Sparks, who was like a sister to her; three nieces, Kim Eberle, Shannon Pattee and Adrian Brown; two great nieces, Sarah Kelley Beckman and Finli Madison Brown; and one great nephew, Donovan Cade Brown.
She was born on August 30, 1956 in Fernandina Beach, FL and moved with her family to Orlando in 1961. She married John on January 20, 1984 and they moved to Apopka that same year where she and John lived for 27 years at their home on Autumn Drive. She enjoyed music and played organ and keyboard. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice; she loved baseball and the Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays. Alice was an inspiration to her family and friends for the love, courage and strength she portrayed as she faced a difficult illness throughout her adult life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at the home of Chris and Mary Beth Campbell, 1332 Eastin Ave., Orlando, FL 32804, (407-587-9395).
The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Memory of Alice W. Costello, c/o The National MS Society, PO Box 4527. New York, NY 10163, (1-800-344-4867).
