Born on September 11, 1939 in Freeburn, KY, Freddie went to rejoice with his mother Augusta Hatfield Steele, father Frank Steele, brother Harvey Steele and sisters Virginia “Tiny” Eldridge and Katherine “Kat” Chambers on February 28, 2013. He was the last of his generation to finally go home to heaven.
Everyone loved Freddie. He remembered everyone’s face and thus, their name! Although born physically and mentally challenged, Freddie was always smiling and happy. He loved his family with a passion. He loved strawberry milkshakes and going to church every possible chance. Before his death he spent most of his time with his niece, Mary Phyllis, whom he had lived with since the early 1970’s.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great and even great-great nieces and nephews! Many live in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska and Texas. Some of those visiting to pay their last respects include Donna Sue & Jim Bell (AZ), Emily and Rodney Ramos (CA), Jim Chambers and family (FL), and Barbara Jean Parks (MI).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am at:
