Survivors include: her parents, Sonny & Rita (Imler) Runyan of Eldon, Missouri, her brother, Cory Shea Runyan, her sister-in-law, Kristen Marie Cremonese of San Francisco, California, and an abundance of extended family & friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved pet dog, Roxy Lynn.
She had a love of sports from a young age - especially basketball and golf. Her athletic skills and achievements included: being a Missouri All-State Basketball player her last two years at Eldon High School, receiving the Scholar-Athlete award from the Eldon Booster Club in 1988, and letters of interest to play basketball from Harvard University, Washington State University, US Air Force Academy, US Army Academy, Missouri University, and Southwest Missouri State College. She made one recruiting visit to West Point Army Academy in New York.
There was no Lady Mustang Golf team while she attended Eldon High School, so she competed on the men’s team. With the possibility of a future in golf, she decided to accept the offer of a full-ride scholarship to play golf with the University of Central Florida (UCF) Lady Knights in Orlando, and received a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts upon graduating in 1992. After college, she played some years on the LPGA Futures Tour, choosing her brother to caddy when he was available.
After school and golf, her work life shifted to her artistic and creative side. She started her own business of home and office interior design and faux-finishing in 2000. After several years on her own, she began working with her friend, Steve Ruben, as an event planner for his Key West Party Rentals company. In 2009 she returned to Orlando and began her career with CORT Events. At CORT she orchestrated design ideas, created event layout options, and lent expert advice on high-profile events throughout Florida. She was most recently employed by Dynasty Building Solutions as a Restoration Specialist, working in the Orlando area.
In her spare time, she used her passion for cooking as a way of nurturing, comforting, and entertaining her friends and family. Among them she is remembered for her whimsical sense of humor and carefree nature.
Her pets were her greatest passion. She owned cats and dogs most of her life. Her favorites were Roxy, a brilliant Basenji-Australian Cattle dog, and her surviving Great Pyrenees, Jackie Joe, who has moved to Missouri to live with Gma Rita and Gpaw Sonny.
