Chuck was born February 15, 1933 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife Betty, sons Charlton and wife Dianne, Randy, Rod and daughters Debra and wife Teresa, Melissa and husband Tom. He had 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Norma, father Walter, sister Donna and brother Danny.
He loved his wife, his children and God. Singing was his passion and he was gifted with a beautiful baritone voice. He is probably singing in God’s choir already. He was a soloist, member of several quartets and sang with barbershop groups in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He used that voice and his personality to entertain folks in nursing homes with various singing groups and always a member of the church choir. His favorite hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. Not only did he like to sing – he was a real ham – always clowning it up making folks laugh. He loved sports, any kind, but especially football and any team from Minnesota, enjoyed golfing until his later years, but fishing was always his favorite sport, it didn’t matter whether he caught anything or not – he just loved to fish and did lots of it with his kids.
He and Betty were married August 31, 1979 and would have been celebrating their 41st anniversary. They traveled to many states for his work – he was a computer program designer and worked for different corporations including American Motors, Brunswick ending in Seattle designing production programs for the Boeing Company.
He and Betty loved to travel – they honeymooned in Paris, traveled all over the US, several cruises but mostly just driving and enjoying our beautiful country.
He was immensely proud of his military service – serving in the United States Army in the Korean war from 1953 to 1960. He left the service as 1st Lieutenant in the Corp of Engineers. He was a graduate of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
The memorial service will be held Monday, August 31, 2020 – 10:30 am at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home Goldenrod Chapel, Winter Park, FL. This would have been our 41st wedding anniversary.

Masks are required. We appreciate your support in this difficult decision. Please visit www.baldwinfairchgoldenrod.com and offer condolences and take a moment to write a tribute.
