David or as all who knew him Ted, was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 6, 1944 from his parents Bill and Edie Stalker. He lived there for 5 years before moving with his family to Buffalo, New York. He lived in the town of Williamsville until July of 1959 where he and his family moved to Maitland, Florida where he has lived until passing.
Ted graduated high school in 1962 from Winter Park High School. He graduated from College in 1967 from the University of South Florida, with a degree in accounting. He worked for Ernst and Ernst Accounting Firm from 1967 to 1975, Overland Hauling Florida Rock Industries as Comptroller from 1975 to 1979, Vacation Ownership International as Comptroller from 1979 to 1987, Martin Marietta in the finance department from 1988 to 2001 and Flowers Chemicals as the first courier, from 2002 to 2012.
Ted lived with his parents at 300 Westwind Ct., in Maitland, Florida. When his mother dies in 1988, he took care of his father until his passing in 2008. He was not to be alone and lived with his brother and wife (Gary and Marina) until his passing on July 6, 2013.
Ted had many hobbies but the one he probably loved the most was playing golf. As a young man living on Lake Maitland he loved water skiing and would ski with his older brother quite often when he would come home after school. He also loved animals. His passion was probably loving animals. He raised all varieties of animals including hamsters, guinea pigs, ducks, alligators, birds, turtles, and of course his beloved dogs who he called “The Oreo Gang”, because of their being black and white. When Ted was in high school, he built an incubator from scratch and raised many Long Island, Muscovy, and Mallard ducks from eggs which he had found abandoned around his house. He raised so many dicks at one time that we would have a hard counting them much less keeping track of them and feeding them. Other hobbies included cars, buying them fixing them up and using them. When in high school he fixed up an old bike and made it like it was brand new and gave his baby brother his first bike, and it was cherished.
Ted will be greatly missed by all of those who loved him. He was the most forgiving and most GIVING man. He would sacrifice his own needs for the comforts of others. He is a great son, brother, uncle, cousin, fellow employee, listener, mentor, helper, buddy and just plain friend. There will never be a day left that he is not loved and missed. He is truly the kindest, most patient understanding, loving and consoling man that I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of and love.
