

Donald Eugene Marquart, age 88, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on December 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Clara. Born September 14, 1937, Don grew up on a farm in Ohio, with his best friend Brother Bill, parents, sister, and younger brother.
Don was the quarterback for Corey-Rawson Highschool, where he dated the pretty cheerleader, Patsy. Don graduated at the top of his class and attended Ohio Northern University. After Don and Patsy were married, he attended night school for twelve years at Findlay College, graduating with a Bachelors in Business Administration while working full time at RCA.
Don was a distinguished executive whose career took him to major cities in multiple continents. He opened the glass factory for RCA in Circleville, Ohio, and held influential international positions in England, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Mexico City, and New York City during his thirty year career with RCA. His last executive position was with Square D in Chicago where he was Executive Vice President for the International Division before he took early retirement. Throughout his professional journey he was known for his strategic vision, inspiration to colleagues and dedication to excellence and teamwork. Don’s legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the values he exemplified and the lessons he imparted to those who knew him.
Beyond his professional achievements, he will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family. Don valued his wife and family above all, cherishing time spent with loved ones. He had a lifelong passion for travel, sports, golf and filled many hours putting together puzzles. Upon retirement, Don and Patsy divided their time between Florida and Oregon to spend time with their daughters and grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Patsy, of 69 years. Don and Patsy have a close family despite the miles that separate them: In Orlando, Florida: daughter Sherrie, son-in-law Stanley, grandchildren Stephen, Erin, Helynn and Robyn, and 3 great grandchildren. In Portland, Oregon: daughter Shellie and son-in-law Sanjay. In San Francisco, California: grandchild Arjun. Siblings in Ohio: brother Bill and wife Arlene, sister Judy and husband Hub, and brother Doug.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (petallianceorlando.org), a cause close to his heart. The family is having a private memorial service for immediate family members.
He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his professional integrity, and the warmth of his presence in every room he entered.
