

Ed retired from Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) as a Master Mechanic with certifications in heavy equipment He also received the Star Award from OUC for utilizing a chemical preparation that cleans and etches metal and painted surfaces, in preparation for application of new paint. Ed was instrumental in locating this relatively new product for the OUC fleet.
Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Bassett; children, son, Edward (Skip) Bassett and wife Lynda , daughter Elaine Johnson, husband David and Son, Scott Bassett, wife Kelly. Grandchildren: Amber (Bassett) Arnold and husband Aaron, Natosha Bassett, Brett Beardslee and wife Ali, and Amanda Beardslee; Great Grandchildren, Evan and Collin Arnold.

Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2015, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm, and a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday September 26, 2015 at Baldwin Fairchild – Ivanhoe Chapel, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32804, with a reception following the service. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Judes Children’s Cancer Hospital in Nashville, TN.
