Elizabeth “Libby” Acosta Smith, 96, of St. Cloud, Florida passed away on December 22, 2022. She was born on December 27, 1925, in Jacksonville, Florida to parents, Thomas and Mattie (Williams) Acosta.
She married Roland “Connie” Conrad in 1953 and later divorced and married the love of her life, W. Burton Smith in 1982.
Libby moved to Central Florida in 1958 and graduated from UCF with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. She had a career as a Social Worker for the Orange County Public School System. She lived in Winter Park for over 40years before moving to St. Cloud. She was also a member of the Winter Park Women’s Club and a great fan of the Florida Gator’s, loved her family and enjoyed going to her house in the mountains of NC.
Libby is survived by her daughter and her husband, C. Diane and Dennis Knight; granddaughter, Jennifer and her husband Dan Augusti and 2 great grandchildren Libby and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, W. Burton Smith in 2011.
There will be a gathering for family and friends on Thursday, December 29 at noon at Baldwin Fairchild, Goldenrod Chapel with service to follow at 1pm and reception from 2-4 also at Baldwin Fairchild, Goldenrod Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Assocation.
