Elsie Clark Allums of Winter Park, FL passed away February 7, 2017 after a short illness. She was born September 20, 1925 to Mary S. Clark and Robert Wilson Clark. Elsie graduated from Draughn’s Business School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She then worked for Gulf States Utilities. In November 1947 Elsie married Marvin Miller Allums in Gloster, Mississippi. She travelled extensively with Marvin during his many tours of duty overseas with the US Army. She enjoyed her role as a military wife and was a member of Ladies of the Ribbon and the Retired Officers Wives Club serving as their treasurer for several years. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin and her sister Gloria. Elsie is survived by her sons Marvin, Jr. (Dawn) and Grady (Lori), two grandsons, Matthew and Brandon, Sister Robbie and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at 3pm with services to follow at 5PM on February 16, 2018 at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Goldenrod Chapel, 7520 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
