Floyd Jr. was born in Mobile, Alabama. His parents, Floyd, Sr. and Irene, moved their family of five to Orlando when Floyd was just nine months old. Floyd was the youngest of three children, and is survived by his two sisters, Elaine and Ann. He is also survived by his wife Linda, and their three children, Tim, Cindy and Deanna. By the time Floyd went home to be with his Savior, he had nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. And one great grand he is no doubt holding now in heaven! Growing up in the small city of Winter Park, he attended Killarney Elementary, Lee Junior High School, and graduated from Edgewater High School. Floyd and Linda were High School sweethearts, and were married on June 26, 1965, at Killarney Baptist Church where they both attended for many years. They spent most of their married life in Forest City and Winter Park until just a few years ago when they built a beautiful house in Weeki Wachee for their retirement.
Floyd worked with his father in the oil heating business starting at about age 14. He also was among the first group of employees to work for UPS in Orlando, and he stayed with them for seven years. Floyd started his own heating and air conditioning business, Walleker’s Heating & AC, in the early 1970’s and served his community in that business for fifty years! Floyd was still working full time when the doctors discovered he was in kidney failure, and that he would soon need to start dialysis. Floyd was forced into retirement and after being on dialysis for over four years, was finally approved for a kidney transplant. After months of testing a date was finally set, and his oldest daughter Cindy would be his living donor! Just seven days before the transplant, Floyd suffered an unknown event at home which resulted in his hospitalization and the transplant was cancelled. After over four weeks in the hospital where he was able to continue his dialysis, his situation worsened and he was unable to continue being dialyzed. After five days in Hospice care, Floyd went home to be with the Lord just a few months from his 58th wedding anniversary. He was 77 years old, and he will be truly missed by his wife, family, friends and customers. Thank you Floyd, for pouring into so many lives, for being the hands and feet of Jesus in serving others, and for loving us.
